Featuring some of the full commissions from last weekend’s MegaCon in Orlando, Florida!

If there’s one thing less surprising than me getting a request for Black Cat, it’s me getting a request for the Barbara Gordon Batgirl and Nightwing… and I’m never tired of drawing it. I’m a sucker for these two, I guess. Keep those commission requests coming!

Drawn in blue pencil on 11 x 17 inch bristol. Converted to greyscale in Photoshop.

I usually do commissions in regular pencil or ink and Copic markers (depending on what’s requested) but at shows I’m finding it easier to work with a blueline pencil to reduce smudging and keeping it clean on the show floor. They don’t erase as well as a normal pencil, but that’s teaching me to be more precise with my lines, which I like.

Sorry this one’s a couple minutes late– I was caught up watching the news about the tsunami/earthquake news out of Japan and Hawaii. My thoughts and prayers are with all those involved.

This week I celebrate SKETCHES I WISH SOMEONE HAD REQUESTED. The topics I wish someone had mentioned but they didn’t.

I have a couple more spots still open for pre-ordered commissions for C2E2 and Megacon, so if you’d like something, email me and we’ll make things happen!

If it’s Friday, it’s time for the Two-for-One Skratchaday– however, since it’s late, this week it’s THREE. . 2 +1 =3 SKETCHES TODAY.

On with the sketches!

Now, I love drawing all sorts of things. Occasionally, I draw in an even more cartoony style and draw youthful characters in high adventure or the mundane of high school personalities and the “drama” they think is going to end their world. That’s the case there– just me messing around with different character types.

Now CAP– I have a sketch request for Cap, but it’s the movie version (and it’s ready to be posted NEXT WEEK, so stay tuned). However, I had already drawn this one, and I thought it was smile-inducing, so here it is. Bucky gets me every time.

Next, an actual SKETCH REQUEST, because I needed a third sketch to make up for the lateness, that’s why. Nightwing– a character I need no motivation to draw, as I’m already a huge fan. As cool as it is to see Dick taking up the role of Batman now, I prefer the Nightwing persona. With him not in the cowl, it’s one more reason for me not to read a DC Comic… and I really enjoy some of them. Flash, looking at you.

Anyone notice the sketches yesterday featured The Return of the Duck Shirt? Oh, yes. It happened.

I worked up a 19 inch by 24 inch monster of a piece (read: HUGE) for this year’s HeroesCon Charity Art Auction! Featuring just about every single hero in the Batman Universe, it was auctioned off at the show for a whopping $1100 ! We were stunned, to say the least. Still are.

GOTHAM UNITED contains Batman, Commissioner Gordon, Oracle, Batwoman, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, Huntress, and a hidden glimpse at Barbara Gordon, the classic Batgirl! Add in a Batsignal and a lotta Gotham City, it’s one mammoth of a piece. Thanks for all the kind words at the show, everyone!
