As much a real life is making a living drawing comics.

I’ve been quite fortunate thus far in my career to have the opportunities I’ve had– I’m not downplaying that. Here’s to a better tomorrow!

90 percent of my sketches are on pieces of paper with random junk scribbled all over them. I have no idea if this is interesting to anyone, but it’s the truth of it– a head here while on the phone, an ear I saw while watching a TV show, a son inspires me to draw an expression, etc etc. You might also see a lot of teeeeeny tiny character shots drawn about an inch high– just because I wanna.

This one was done in pencil on standard 11 x 17 inch bristol– done for an old college friend who we saw at SDCC and had this commission set up ahead of time to pick up there. I’ve been waiting to share this for a bit now– Enjoy!

Welcome to SKRATCHADAY, my new daily sketch blog! Don’t get too excited– the pieces I’m posting here won’t be fully finished pieces or anything. Mostly you’ll see whatever sketch I decide is interesting enough to share. Y’see, I do a lot of sketching to warm up every day, and a lot of those sketches go unseen… So at the behest some of my friends, fans, and my own need to keep my ego afloat, I thought the daily sketchblog would be a fun little feature.

Stay tuned and comment! I’ll be giving away free sketches to commenters and the like, so keep your eyes open and all that! Let me know whatcha think of the new blog, too!

Seriously, I’m all alone in this freakin’ studio all day and I could use the attention.

Dragon*Con 2010 photo parade recap!

Hey, people… DRAGON*CON was a blast. Seriously one of the best shows we’ve done on all fronts. ALL fronts. Just a beautifully ran show from start to finish this year, which was above and beyond our wildest expectations. At no point was I idle, and to be honest? I probably worked too MUCH.

This is a party show, and it runs seriously 24 hours a day. It got so crazy Saturday night that the National Guard had to be called in to help people vacate a few of the downtown hotels Dragon*Con was hosted at. THE NATIONAL GUARD.

Four days of celebration of all aspects of pop and geek culture, with some of the most imaginative, well-constructed costumes you’ll ever see. It’s definitely worth seeing at least once in your life. I guarantee a great time.

Crazy.

Jeremy Dale’s HeroesCon charity art auction piece!

I worked up a 19 inch by 24 inch monster of a piece (read: HUGE) for this year’s HeroesCon Charity Art Auction! Featuring just about every single hero in the Batman Universe, it was auctioned off at the show for a whopping $1100 ! We were stunned, to say the least. Still are.

GOTHAM UNITED contains Batman, Commissioner Gordon, Oracle, Batwoman, Batgirl, Nightwing, Robin, Huntress, and a hidden glimpse at Barbara Gordon, the classic Batgirl! Add in a Batsignal and a lotta Gotham City, it’s one mammoth of a piece. Thanks for all the kind words at the show, everyone!
