Hey, guys– FREE COMIC BOOK DAY 2011 was a smashing success. Perhaps you saw this photo on BleedingCool?
Yeah– I took that photo. I was dropping off Jermaine Exum, who runs ACME COMICS, after seeing THOR earlier that night– when we saw guys camping out for the Free Comic Book Day even the next day! Spectacular!
In fact, BLEEDINGCOOL.COM picked up the story: http://www.bleedingcool.com/2011/05/07/camping-out-overnight-for-free-comic-book-day/
And the local news reported live from the event as well! Check it out at: ACME COMICS\’ FCBD 2011 Channel 2 News recap
On with the sketch!
Baroness from COBRA for Free Comic Book Day! Playing a flute, no less. Bizarre, I know– but that was the request, and I was more than happy to work on that for the lady in question. She even provided reference! Bravo. Well played.
Enjoy! Click to embiggen.

On with the sketch!
Looks a little tighter a sketch than usual? That’s because this is a FREE SKETCH won by a blog commenter recently right here on the Skratchaday blog. They requested DUKE from G.I. Joe in his jetpack from the 1980s animated motion picture’s opening sequence… which is, by the way, one of my favorite animated scenes of anything ever. It still gets me excited. How cool was that opening 2 minutes? It was SPECTACULAR– and it really made me a lifelong Joe fan as a kid.
Enjoy! Click to embiggen.
