Seriously, click on the image up there– this was a big, massive, dramatic, days-on-end event in the making. I drew this commission last week over the course of several days in between other work on massive 19 x 36 inch bristol board in blue pencil. The original idea was to ink it as well, but after I shared it with the buyer (whose son is the basis for the child knight, by the way)– he decided he wanted it just like this.
