It’s REQUEST WEEK! Posting the first wave of sketches from your suggestions, so I hope you guys enjoy!
If you get the chance, let me recommend some new comics for you– SKULL KICKERS and MARINEMAN from Image Comics are incredibly well illustrated, action-packed, exciting comics with some of the most promise I’ve come across in a new series in some time. I recently picked them up as part of my “gotta know what’s out there, and what looks good” weekly comics trip. I’m really impressed– these two series caught me off-guard with the quality of the overall delivery. Definitely recommended!

Poor Gravity– he debuted shortly after Invincible first debuted, and Gravity creators Sean McKeever and Mike Norton have had to listen to people compare the two series a lot since then. His series was short-lived, he was killed, made a protector of the universe or something, put into a new teen team the YOUNG ALLIES (which was cancelled after six issues as well), and now he’s appearing in an upcoming giant crossover soon enough. I love the character, and think it’s a fun take on the young, new hero archetype– I just wish more people would learn to love him as I do. It’s been a pleasure watching Sean McKeever take the character on a real journey recently and hey– developing a crush on Firestar doesn’t hurt, either

I can’t wait for you guys to see the requests this week– I’ll make this more regular as I get them chipped away at, but for now just a week. Should be fun!
On with the sketch!
Two of my favorite characters in one piece! With Johnny the Human Torch passing away recently, Spidey has filled in temporarily as a team member, so I thought this would be a fun little sketch right around now.
Tell me whatcha think!

On topic with the masthead image, he IS. Mark Schultz‘s work on anything is great. Not familiar? Check out Xenozoic Tales (more popularly known to most as Cadillacs & Dinosaurs), a series he did that was recently collected as XENOZOIC from Flesk Publications. It’s not only gorgeous, it’s a great read, too. Highest possible recommendation.
On with the sketch!
Oh, Red Hulk that’s drawn in blue, making you impossible to know from regularly green Hulk– you’re so kind.
Actually, for the observant, you CAN tell them apart. More of a crew cut,for one. Also, tends to have inverted eyes as a clue to the heat emanating from him like lava. He also has a sliiiiiiiiiiightly different brow, but that’s debatable. Ed McGuinness did a great job designing him in that he added some CAPCOM-inspired flair to him. He’s almost AKUMA-esque.

How did you like yesterday’s Two-In-One? I figure I have so many of these sketches, I might as well do that from time to time. Which reminds me:
How would you guys like a FRIDAY TWO-IN-ONE sketch post? Two sketches, one will leave… a comment thanking me for doing it.
Them’s the rules. hehe
On with the sketches!
I have GOT to start making t-shirts like the ones I draw and sell them in the shop here or something… like the little duck or something. It’s an idea, anyway.
So yeah– I was pretty mad when I drew that. Don’t remember why, but I thought the expression was classic, so I had to scan and post. Oh yeah, hey– pretty girl on a dock (and a guy). That’s just how I roll, kids.
